Cycling in Helsinki

“Baana” (a pedestrian and cycling corridor) forms part of a 1200-kilometre network of bike paths in Helsinki that makes it easy to access all parts of the city on two wheels, from the Keskuspuisto “Central Park” to the north to the ferry harbors to the south, and from the bustling city centre to the quiet fields and forests in the surrounding countryside – even to the islands of the archipelago. Helsinki has 1,200 kilometres of cycling routes, 730 kilometres of them paved. Approximately 500 kilometres of the routes run in recreational areas and 90 kilometres on waterfronts. The cycling routes can be seen in the Journey Planner for Walking and Cycling and on the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Cycling Map available from Sports Department locations and the Bike Centre in summer. Museums

Who wouldn’t know the Moomins? Moominvalley, situated downstairs of Tampere Art Museum, presents unique pieces of art by the creator herself, Tove Jansson.

The collection was donated to the Art Museum and has since offered visitors a peek into the many faces of Moomins.

The highlight must be the 5 storey Moomin House, handmade with hundreds of fascinating details. The museum also has a reading corner where visitors can enjoy Moomin books! For more information, click here!
